Day 21: Today was Tough

So I am officially at 3 weeks in and boy, did I earn it today.

Since the weather is so beautiful here, yesterday and today we were basically fighting hoardes of people in traffic and walking pretty much everywhere we went. I am really looking forward to getting home.

There were a lot of emotional triggers today as I was tired from yesterday and feeling frustrated with not being able to move about freely. I remember why I moved away from here.

I decided that no amount of comfort eating was going to change the situation, that it was temporary. I was also dealing with a bit a of loneliness that being in a crowded area can be where you feel surrounded by people, but with no real connection. I was aware the whole time, but chose to stay with it.

So tomorrow is the flight home. The morning should be hectic with rush-hour traffic and then a flight out at 10am, but I will juice in the morning and will be able to juice when I get home in the early afternoon.

I am ALMOST there and back to my safe environment. I will probably have to take my juicer out of my carry-on as I go through customs.

I am happy with the results so far and have come to the conclusion that the best results don't start until the 3 week mark anyways, so from here on out is the good stuff. I did feel a bit of detox today, but it passed.

My longest fast ever was 22 days so tomorrow I will tie that record and then Wednesday is when I surpass it....I am making personal history and this is how change happens.

Here is a fabulous quote that someone shared on a FB group that I am part of that I just loved:

"Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires courage." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

This is definitely not a journey for the faint-hearted, but it's been a fun one and I am grateful for all the support my juicy friends have given me and I know will continue to give me. Big hugs and high fives all around. :)

  1. Hi Michelle, would you mind sharing, if possible, where you had traveled too.....hubby and I are looking into some other places to live, we are in Ohio now....thank you! :)

  2. Pam,
I was in Northern California in Santa Cruz and San Francisco. Very expensive to live there. We used to live in Santa Cruz for 15 years and the rents are so expensive there now and so is gas. But it's absolutely beautiful if you can handle the tourist traffic. :)
